Porting of new features for Service Pack 2

SYSPRO has decided to slightly change its policy regarding releasing new features during the lifecycle of Service Pack 2.

During Service Pack 1 (and prior releases of SYSPRO software) we provided 'ports' (usually weekly) that contained the latest bug fixes but which could also contain new features.

While most of our customers are quite happy receiving new features, unfortunately some of the new features have caused a change (sometimes significant) to the existing user interface or the business processes required to perform an existing function. This has caused a significant disruption for some customers, especially where stringent change control procedures are in place.

Therefore, we have decided to ensure a more controlled release of new features during the SP2 lifecycle.

Release of new features for SP2

We will continue to produce 'ports' on a weekly basis that contain bug fixes and other stability improvements.

In addition, we will release selected new features once a month (i.e. the first port of each month will contain bug fixes together with selected enhancements - all other ports just contain bug fixes).

It is intended that 'selected enhancements' means brand new features, new SRS reports, new programs, etc. We will make every attempt to prevent changes to existing user interfaces or those that affect existing business processes.

We believe that this will provide the highest level of customer service level while providing new features in a timely manner.
